The NASDAQ 100 All Stars model closed a strong week, up +3.26%, far surpassing the benchmark, the QQQ which closed up +0.83%. The model still leads the QQQ by 5% year-to-date.
The model this week had strong performance in general with some explosive upward moves in FAST, WYNN, and NVDA. Fastenal (FAST) continued its upward trend with a nice move higher on Thursday. Wynn Resorts (WYNN) after some consolidation around the 10 DMA gapped up strongly on Friday. NVidia (NVDA) also ended the week with a strong upward move. Facebook (FB) started the week higher and then retreated from the 112 level to end the week but still positioned positively relative to the 10 DMA. Mattel (MAT) lagged this week as it dipped below the 10 DMA was but was able to retake it by Friday and continue to consolidate.
The SPY put in a strong week continuing its recent bullish trend off the heels of accommodative policies and statements from both the EU and the Federal Reserve (which pared back its projected 4 rate increase down to 2). The SPY closed strongly above its 200 DMA, however, it is now just getting back into the primary resistance area that dominated 2015.
