The QQQ’s put in a very strong week, closing positive on four of the five days, including a large gap up on Friday thanks to a few great earnings reports from the likes of Amazon. The index also put in a new all-time high, surpassing its tech-bubble high dating back 15 years ago. The SPY, DIA, and IWM had similar positive weeks closing near their respective highs.
The NASDAQ 100 All Stars model was up +1.08% this week. Until Friday, the model was beating the benchmark on the week. The QQQ’s closed up an impressive +4.24%. A disappointing sell-off in our two semiconductor stocks, AVGO and NXPI, on Friday partially off-set impressive gains our other three holdings. NXPI has a “buy” rating and reports earnings on Wednesday, 4/29/15 after the market. The model will hold this position through the earnings report.
